President of the Sweetwater Education Association representing over 1800 educators.
Member of the North County Labor Alliance.
Executive Board member of the San Diego and Imperial Counties Labor Council.
Elected twice to the Board of Directors of the California Teachers Association representing teachers in San Diego and Imperial counties.

Fiscal Responsibility
As a trustee, Roberto Rodriguez will ensure a balanced budget that demonstrates a commitment to the future of Palomar College. Roberto Rodriguez understands budgets are a reflection of values, and will demand that racial equity and justice for all Palomar students are at the center of all financial decisions.
Student Centered
Roberto Rodriguez believes a well rounded college education is a fundamental right. Palomar students must have access to diverse courses and curriculum, including the arts and technical education programs, in order to be competitive in a global society. Roberto will work to expand course selections and learning opportunities for all Palomar students.
Building Trust
Roberto Rodriguez understands developing a shared vision, based on common values, is paramount to overcoming the challenges facing Palomar College. As an experienced leader, Roberto Rodriguez will work to build consensus among all stakeholders, and create a learning community built on trust.
